1

Tell us the job

Address, job type, residential or commercial.

2

We do the research

PermitPull confirms which authority has jurisdiction, city or county, then reads the live .gov sources that govern that exact address: current fee schedules, the adopted code edition, and the real forms. Every answer traces back to the document it came from.

3

You get a sourced answer

Clean, cited, in minutes.

About us

Built by someone who's done the work, wasted the time, felt the pain.

I'm Ben, founder of PermitPull. I've spent my whole life in the trades. My dad ran a concrete finishing company for 38 years, so I grew up on job sites watching a small-business owner carry that load firsthand.

After nearly a decade in the Air Force I moved into commercial HVAC, then took a project management role for a contractor in Charleston, SC, one of the toughest permitting environments in the country. Flood zones, hurricane-rated specs, historic review boards, marshland drainage and environmental rules, and plenty more.

I lost more mornings than I can count in building-department waiting rooms, or on the phone reaching no one, or getting bounced to a department that said it wasn't theirs. The websites were complicated and outdated, and never fully loaded on one bar of service in the truck.

PermitPull is the tool I wanted. It does that research for you, fast, and hands you the answer so you can get to work.

I built PermitPull so we don't lose a day to the research.

In the Air Force my job was global logistics, making complicated systems move efficiently. Permit research is the opposite, slow and scattered and good at burning a whole morning. So I built the fix. PermitPull pulls from live government sources for the exact address and job you enter and hands back a clean, sourced report. No guessing, no generic checklists, no handing your project to a middleman or expediter for a hefty fee.

  • Live .gov sources
  • Address-specific
  • Every fee sourced

What we do

The complete permit picture for your exact job.

One search and you have it: the specific permits, fees, forms, and inspections your project needs. Not a generic checklist, the real requirements for your exact address and job.

  • The permits your job actually requires
  • Fees, forms, and where to file them
  • Code flags and the inspection sequence

All the homework an expediter charges hundreds for, without the middleman or the markup.
